Rep. Mike Bost, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district since 2015, recently took to social media to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of young individuals from Southern Illinois. These individuals have been nominated for the 2025 Service Academy.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Bost congratulated the nominees via Twitter, expressing his pride in their accomplishments: "Congratulations to our 2025 Service Academy nominees! Southern Illinois is home to some of the brightest and most patriotic young men and women. It's exciting to see that the fire of service still burns bright."

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he highlighted their exemplary roles within their communities: "These students are outstanding members of our community, setting a great example both in and out of the classroom. Looking forward to congratulating each of them and their families in person at our Service Academy reception in Mount Vernon tonight."

Later that evening, on February 1, 2025, Rep. Bost shared his experience from an event held in Mount Vernon: "Had a great time tonight recognizing our 2025 Service Academy nominees and meeting their families in Mount Vernon. These fine young men and women are our future, and it's inspiring to see them committed to service at such a young age."
