Rep. Mike Bost, the U.S. Representative for Illinois' 12th district, recently addressed several significant topics through social media. Bost has been serving in Congress since 2015 after replacing Gerald Hawkins and has a longstanding career in public service.

On April 9, 2025, Rep. Bost commented on the stock market's unprecedented performance, noting that "The Dow closed Wednesday with the highest single day point gain in history. Roughly $5 TRILLION added to the American economy. The second, third, and fourth largest single day point gains were also set by, guess who? President Trump. This is the Art of the Deal in real time."

Continuing his reflections on political developments, on April 10, he expressed concern over judicial interventions, stating "Time and again, activist judges have issued nationwide injunctions to obstruct President Trump’s America First agenda – most recently attempting to halt the deportation of dangerous illegal immigrants while they were in the air leaving our country. I voted for the No Rogue."

Bost also addressed local issues in his district, expressing gratitude for relief efforts in Southern Illinois on April 10. He stated, "Recent storms and flooding have caused serious damage across Southern Illinois. The American Red Cross opened emergency shelters across the Midwest region, including one in Marion County at Salem First Baptist Church on Main Street. I’m grateful for their work, and for the local"

Mike Bost has represented Illinois' 12th District since 2015, serving in the U.S. Congress and previously in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1995 to 2015, as well as on the Jackson County Board from 1984 to 1988. He is a resident of Murphysboro, Illinois, where he was born.
