Rep. Mike Bost, who has represented Illinois' 12th congressional district since 2015, recently shared updates on engagements at Scott Air Force Base, the University of Illinois Extension Office, and a new facility opening in Pinckneyville. Bost, who has a long history of public service including time in the Illinois House of Representatives and the Jackson County Board, is also known for his studies at the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy.
During an April 22 visit to Scott Air Force Base, Rep. Bost met with representatives from Challenge Unlimited to discuss their initiatives supporting individuals with disabilities. He expressed appreciation for the encounter and mentioned being honored with a certificate during the visit. On April 23, Bost visited the University of Illinois Extension office in Anna, engaging in conversations about critical topics including food access, healthy eating programs, youth development, conservation, and support for underserved communities. Later on the same day, Rep. Bost participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new truck and salt storage facility for the Perry County Highway Department in Pinckneyville. Bost, 62, hails from Murphysboro, Illinois, where he currently resides. His political career began in the Jackson County Board before moving to the Illinois House of Representatives.
