On May 6, 2025, Rep. Bost expressed gratitude on National Nurses Day by thanking nursing professionals for their dedication to caring for the sick and vulnerable. He mentioned having nurses in his family, including his aunt Mary Lou Roberts. "As we celebrate National Nurses Day, I want to thank all the nursing professionals who step up day in and day out to care for the sick and vulnerable in our communities. I know how special these folks are because I have nurses in my own family."
Later that day, he highlighted the Veterans Honor Flight program, which transports veterans to Washington D.C., allowing them to visit memorials dedicated to their service. Bost welcomed a flight from Southern Illinois on this occasion. "If you haven’t heard of the Veterans Honor Flight program, it’s remarkable."
