The City of Alton recently held a Climate Protection and Energy Efficiency Committee meeting to discuss the closure of a power plant.

The committee will also examine congestion mitigation for local highways. Specifically, congestion is a problem at the Gordon Moore Park entrance. The committee would like to use its Illinois Department of Transportation grant to deal with this situation. It may be possible to add an extra turn lane.

Members present at the meeting included David Boulds, Wayne Politsch, Adam Peipert, Zeke Jabusch, Randy Hausmann and Laura Asher.
