Hal Patton is doing all he can to keep his supporters engaged and motivated as November’s general election inches closer.

“The petitions may be filed, but our work is far from done,” Patton recently wrote on Facebook. “Our team is always looking for new members. If you are interested in volunteering on my campaign, please enter your contact information on the attached web page.”

In another post, Patton sought to demonstrate why he’s convinced he’s the best candidate for the job.

“During my time as the mayor of Edwardsville, our city has gained over 3,000 new jobs from large-scale employers like Prairie Farms and Amazon,” he wrote. “I am running for state senate because I want to bring my job creation experience to Springfield and advocate for the hardworking people of downstate Illinois.”

Finally, Patton took time to thank all those who have either worked on his campaign or shown interest in it.

“Thank You [sic] to all who circulated petitions for me and the more than [9,000] people who signed to get me on the ballot,” he posted. “Because of their efforts, voters will finally have a choice for their next state senator. In the coming weeks and months, I will be talking with voters across the district about my vision for our communities and how I plan to bring my work ethic and record of results as mayor of Edwardsville to the state legislature.”

Patton has made his vow to jumpstart the district’s struggling economy a central platform in his campaign against Rachelle Aud Crowe for the 56th Senate District seat.

The 56th Senate District includes all or parts of Edwardsville, Alton, Glen Carbon, Bethalto, Caseyville, Collinsville, East Alton, Elsah, Fairview Heights, Hartford, Godfrey, Granite City, Madison, Maryville, O’Fallon, Pontoon Beach, Roxana, Shiloh, South Roxana, Swansea and Wood River.
