Camp Jackson Fire Protection District responded to 273 calls in 2018 - 9.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Camp Jackson included 153 fires - 77 structure fires, 22 vehicle fires and 54 other fires.

In all, the department saw $11,000 in fire loss - or about $72 per fire.

The department also received 120 false calls, including four malicious calls and 116 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.
