Quarry-elsah-Mississippi Fire Protection District responded to 50 calls in 2018 - 7.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Quarry-elsah-Mississippi included 47 fires - 16 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 27 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,451,000 in fire loss - or about $30,872 per fire.

The department also received two false calls.
