City of Jerseyville City Council met July 13.

The Jerseyville City Council held their regular meeting at the Jerseyville City Hall at 5:00 p.m. via teleconference due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The public was invited to attend by calling the teleconference phone number.
ROLL CALL: Present were Commissioners Kevin Stork, Nick Bexheti, Steve Pohlman, Zach Crawford and Mayor William Russell. City Attorney William Strang was also present.
Comm. Pohlman led the opening prayer and Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
A motion was made by Comm. Pohlman, seconded by Comm. Bexheti, to approve the minutes from the meeting held Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Roll call vote showed all vote aye, no nays, motion carried.
A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Crawford, to approve the bills as presented for July 13, 2021, in the amount of $321,327.15. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Bexheti, to approve the certified of estimate of revenues for FY 21-22 as presented in draft form. Comm. Stork mentioned these revenues as listed will be posted for public inspection with final approval at next Council meeting on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Roll call voted showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Bexheti, to approve the FY 21-22 Appropriations Ordinance as presented for public inspection with a public hearing to be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers for final approval. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Crawford to approve an ordinance to amend Title 4, Chapter 8, Section 4-8-5 regulations, subparagraph C, regarding video gaming and number of terminals allowed. City Attorney Strang stated this ordinance will change the number of video gaming terminals allowed by qualified establishments from 5 to 6 machines complying with the State of Illinois. Comm. Pohlman and Comm. Stork asked if the Council needed to limit the total amount of machines allowed within the City. City Attorney Strang mentioned the Council has put restrictions on the number of terminals by limiting to certain class of liquor license and not allowing video cafes. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
Under new business, Mayor Russell thanked Comm. Stork, Department Heads, and City Clerk for working together on the appropriations for the FY 21-22 budget.
No public comment – Mr. Lloyd Hawes was unable to attend.
Being no further business to be discussed, a motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Pohlman, to adjourn. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
