Metro East Sun

There were 90 offenders living in St. Clair County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows 83 men and seven women were released in St. Clair County. Of the parolees, three were veterans, and the median age was 39. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2022, and the oldest was a 80-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2022.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Ramon Wilson. He was convicted of homicide in 2007 when he was 42 years old. He is now 57.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
