The House of Representatives has passed S. 2392, the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2025, sending it to President Trump for approval. The legislation is intended to ensure that benefits for disabled veterans and their survivors keep up with inflation.

House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost (R-Ill.) commented on the passage of the bill. “After over 40 days of the Democrats – led by Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries – holding the government and the benefits and services veteran families rely on hostage, I am proud to send this bill that disabled veterans need to cover everyday living expenses to the president’s desk this week,” said Chairman Bost. “The Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act is a vitally important bill that Congress must pass each year to allow disabled veterans’, and their survivors, benefits to keep pace with inflation. As House Republicans continue to work alongside President Trump to restore affordability for American families and bring down the Biden-era high inflation, high interest rates, and high energy costs that forced families to stretch every dollar to make ends meet, this bill will help us meet that mission.”

The cost-of-living adjustment is an annual measure designed by Congress so that disability compensation and survivor benefits for veterans are adjusted in line with increases in consumer prices.

This week, S. 2392 was among the bills approved by the House.
