Q2 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from St. Clair County convicted of public safety violations set for release

There were two offenders convicted of public safety violations living in St. Clair County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for public safety violations was 34. The younger parolee was a 33-year-old woman sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 35-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ronald Bonner Jr. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 33 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
