Today, the House Republican Caucus staged a walkout from the legislative chamber in protest against resolutions introduced by House Democrats. The Republicans claimed these resolutions were politically motivated. State Representative Charlie Meier, representing Okawville, issued a statement regarding the incident.

"Today, House Democrats decided to turn the House into a political theater and throw a tantrum about President Trump’s policies," said Rep. Meier. He emphasized that the Republicans walked out in unity to avoid being "used as pawns in Democrats’ political games."

Rep. Meier highlighted several issues he believes require attention, including tax reduction, family protection, public safety enhancement, and immigration crisis management. He stated that "House Republicans are ready to do the work of Illinois and will not stand by while Democrats refuse to acknowledge the American people’s choice for President."
