State Senate race: Democrat Belt wins voter tally in O Fallon Township

Christopher Belt led Republican Tanya Hildenbrand in votes cast in O Fallon Township for the District 57 state Senate race, according to the latest vote count.

Belt appeared to outpace Hildenbrand by a margin of 2.8 percent on Tuesday in the township.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Ruocco Katherine, won by a margin of 19.34 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Clayborne, Jr., II, who received 1,445 votes to Katherine's 2,138.
